Contrary to the Find A Grave assertion above, that Sir John was buried at the Holy Ghost churchyard, the document below nominates his burial place as St Mary New Churchyard, Carew, Pembrokeshire, Wales. That is reinforced in the wall monument shown above at the Church of the Holy Ghost – “He in Carew Church 1637”.
Also found in Find A Grave, an inscription – “Sir John gained possession of the castle (Carew Castle) for his family in 1622 (after a lapse of 142 years). He built this transept (the North transept at St Marys) so that he might be buried here. He died in 1637”.
